On May 27, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Avet Adonts received the newly appointed Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Armenia Alfonso di Riso on the occasion of presenting the copies of his credentials.

Congratulating Alfonso di Riso on his appointment, Avet Adonts expressed hope that the newly appointed Ambassador would contribute to the strengthening of the Armenian-Italian relations.

Ambassador Di Rizo, in his turn, highlighted further expansion of bilateral relations, presenting the main priorities of his future activities in Armenia.

The interlocutors touched upon a number of issues of mutual interest, as well as a wide range of issues related to regional stability and security. In particular, the Deputy Foreign Minister drew the Ambassador's attention to the provocative actions of the Azerbaijani military units that penetrated into the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, expecting a more active and targeted response from the partner countries.

Avet Adonts also presented the humanitarian situation in Artsakh, the steps taken to address urgent issues and expressed concern over the politicization of the humanitarian assistance process by Azerbaijan and the creation of artificial obstacles.
