Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Lithuania
01 December, 2022On December 1, within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Council, the Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Gabrielius Landsbergis, the Foreign Minister of Lithuania.
The interlocutors emphasised positive dynamics in the Armenia-Lithuania interstate relations, commending regular high-level mutual visits. In the context of the development of trade and economic ties, the significance of the effective work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission was highlighted.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Gabrielius Landsbergis also touched upon a number of urgent issues of the international and regional agenda. Foreign Minister of Armenia presented the situation in the South Caucasus and the approaches of the Armenian side regarding the establishment of sustainable and lasting peace, as well as the efforts in this direction. Ararat Mirzoyan underscored that Azerbaijan's ongoing occupation of the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, its provocative actions and warmongering rhetoric pose a threat to the fragile regional stability.
The sides also exchanged views on the EU Monitoring Mission`s activities in Armenia. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasised that the mission plays a positive role in terms of ensuring stability in the region.
