On January 16th, within the framework of the visit of President of the Republic of Armenia to Estonia, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Paruyr Hovhannisyan met with Kyllike Sillaste-Elling, the Undersecretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia. 

The participants of the meeting commended the high level of political dialogue between Estonia and Armenia and close bilateral cooperation based on strong historical ties and universal values. The importance of maintaining the high level of political dialogue was emphasized.

The interlocutors highly appreciated the cooperation between Estonia and Armenia within the framework of the European Union, particularly in the context of the Armenia-EU partnership, and expressed confidence that the full implementation of the EU Comprehensive and Enhanced  Partnership Agreement will promote relations between the two countries in all areas of mutual interest.

Deputy Minister Hovhannisyan drew his counterpart's attention to the humanitarian crisis caused by the blockade of the only road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia and the outside world - the Lachin Corridor - by Azerbaijan on false environmental grounds. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Azerbaijan grossly violates the provisions of the November 9 2020 Statement and international humanitarian law.
