On February 6, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Christoph Heusgen, the Chairman of the Munich Security Conference.

The sides touched upon a number of issues on regional and international security.

Ararat Mirzoyan briefed his interlocutor on the details of the humanitarian crisis as a result of the blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan and, in this context, highlighted the imperative of clear steps by the international community towards its resolution. Foreign Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan pursues a policy of subjecting the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing and it is necessary to increase the pressure on Azerbaijan to prevent it.

The interlocutors also discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of the Munich Security Conference.
