On 14 July, in Lisbon, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met with António Feijó, the President of the Board of Trustees of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. The meeting was also attended by Razmik Panossian, Director of the Armenian Communities Department of the Foundation.

Ararat Mirzoyan highly appreciated the great contribution of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to the preservation of the Armenian identity and the development of Armenian studies in Armenian communities around the world. Minister Mirzoyan also underlined the role of the Foundation as an exceptional bridge in strengthening ties between the two countries.

During the meeting, the possibilities of further developing cooperation between Armenian institutes and the Foundation in the fields of science, education, culture and information technology were discussed, as well as the prospects for implementing joint programmes in these and new areas. The importance of continued efforts to preserve historical and cultural heritage was emphasized.

At the end of the meeting, Armenia’s Foreign Minister also visited the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, where he got acquainted with the rich collection of works of art on display, including some exceptional Armenian pieces.
