On September 19, in New York, within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

Ararat Mirzoyan briefed his interlocutor on the details of the large-scale aggression carried out by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh since September 19, including information on the civilian casualties. Minister Mirzoyan stressed that both the actions and official statements of Azerbaijan openly prove its intention to carry out ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh and emphasized the urgency of clear steps by international partners, including the EU.

The session of the UN Security Council scheduled for September 21, on the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh was touched upon.

The issues on Armenia-EU partnership were also discussed.
