On September 19, in New York, within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with U.S. acting Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Yuri Kim.

Minister Mirzoyan briefed on the details of the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh on the same day, including the casualties among the civilian population. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that this and the previous actions of Azerbaijan have the undisguised aim of subjecting Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing.

Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the urgency of implementing clear and unambiguous actions of international partners, especially members of the UN Security Council, in order to prevent mass atrocities by Azerbaijan.
