On October 2, political consultations were held in Muscat between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Sultanate of Oman, headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan and Deputy Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman for Political Affairs Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Alharthy.

During the political consultations, the parties exchanged views regarding the cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms and emphasized the importance of enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries. Both sides highlighted the importance of cooperation in the spheres of renewable energy, information technology, artificial intelligence, healthcare, as well as agriculture and tourism.

Regional and security issues in the South Caucasus and the Middle East were also touched upon at the consultations.

Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan briefed his counterpart on the humanitarian crisis following the mass forced displacement of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from Azerbaijan’s attack.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs also had a meeting with Ibtisam Ahmed Said Al Farooji, the Deputy Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman. The Armenian delegation had a visit to the "Invest Oman" exhibition hall.
