On October 9, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahe Gevorgyan had a meeting with Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

During the meeting, Vahe Gevorgyan commended the involvement of the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees in supporting refugees forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia as a consequence of Azerbaijan’s ethnic cleansing policy.

The importance of the joint call announced the day before by the UN and the Partners to support the Government of Armenia in accordance with the needs of the refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh was highlighted in this context.

A wide range of issues of international protection and support for Nagorno-Karabakh refugees were discussed.
