On October 12, Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan received the delegation headed by Viola von Cramon-Taubadel, Member of the European Parliament and Member of the Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.

Deputy Minister highly appreciated the principled position of the European Parliament on the issues of vital importance for Armenia, particularly emphasizing the Resolution on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh after Azerbaijan's attack adopted on October 5, which strongly condemned Azerbaijan's pre-planned and unprovoked military attack against the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Paruyr Hovhannisyan presented in detail the situation of forced displacement of more than 100 thousand of our compatriots as a result of the ethnic cleansing policy pursued by Azerbaijan in Nagorno Karabakh and conveyed words of appreciation for the humanitarian support provided by the European Union and EU member States.

The parties discussed a number of other topics of the Armenia-EU partnership agenda, including inter-parliamentary cooperation and issues of regional security.
