Meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia with the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands
09 February, 2024On February 9, in The Hague, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Geoffrey van Leeuwen, the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
During the meeting, both sides commended the readiness to promote the intensive political dialogue between Armenia and the Netherlands and the corresponding trade and economic cooperation. The possibilities of implementation of joint projects in that direction, including in the fields of water resources management and agriculture, were discussed.
Views were exchanged on the deepening of cooperation within the Armenia-EU partnership. The interlocutors emphasized the importance of using the available tools to the maximum extent for the development of cooperation in various fields for the benefit of continuous rapprochement with the EU.
Efforts, including in cooperation with international partners, to address the needs and rights of more than 100,000 Armenian population forcibly displaced as a result of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh were also touched upon.
