On March 18, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan received Kate Newton, the Deputy Regional Director of the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) for the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe. 

The sides discussed the broad agenda of the Armenia-WFP cooperation, the ongoing works and programs in food security, highlighting the successful implementation of the  “School Feeding Programme” and “Whole GrainWheat Value Chain" programs.

The parties emphasized the need to implement long-term programs in order to address the needs of forcibly displaced refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the importance of implementing the agenda between Armenia and WFP. In this context, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia highlighted the importance of the full functioning of the WFP office in Yerevan.
