On March 26, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who was in Buenos Aires on an official visit, met with Martín Menem, the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Republic. Members of the Chamber of Deputies and Tatevik Gasparyan, a member of the Armenia-Argentina friendship group in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia also participated in the meeting.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Martín Menem commended the high level of political dialogue between the two countries, as well as the willingness to expand sectoral cooperation in line with the innovative developments of the 21st century, including in the spheres of economy, information technologies and education.

Both parties emphasized that interstate relations are based on historically friendly relations between the Armenian and Argentine peoples, in which the Armenian community of Argentina plays a significant role. The interlocutors touched upon the new possibilities of decentralized cooperation.

During the meeting, the role of parliamentary diplomacy in increasing cooperation between the two countries was also highlighted. Mentioning the 2023 visit to Armenia by the members of the friendship groups with Armenia in the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina, Tatevik Gasparyan emphasized the keen interest in the continuous activation of parliamentary ties, based also on democratic values cherished by both sides.

Minister Mirzoyan presented to the President and members of the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina the approaches of Armenia to the key issues of the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which are also reflected in the statements made following the meetings at the highest level, including the border delimitation process in line with 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration and the unblocking of regional infrastructures based on the principles of respect for sovereignty and jurisdiction, reciprocity, and equality.

At the end of the meeting, on behalf of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Minister Mirzoyan invited the Argentine parliamentarians to visit Armenia: "You have friends in the Republic of Armenia, and we are waiting for you there."
