Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Germany

On May 17, in Strasbourg, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Annalena Baerbock, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany.

The interlocutors commended the active dynamics of the high-level political dialogue between the two countries, emphasizing the opportunities provided by deepening of the partnership both bilaterally and on the EU platform.

The firm steps taken in the direction of strengthening democracy and the rule of law in Armenia and the issues of cooperation with international partners in that direction were touched upon. "The Government of Armenia is committed to both democratic reforms and peace agenda, and the continued support of our international partners is crucial to ensuring tangible progress."

Views were exchanged on regional economic programs, Armenia’s engagement in them, including in the field of renewable energy.

Continuing the discussions on regional topics, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Germany touched upon the security situation in the South Caucasus. Minister Mirzoyan briefed his counterpart on the latest developments in the normalization process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, including the negotiations on the draft peace treaty held recently in Almaty.
