Telephone conversation between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Estonia
24 May, 2024On May 24, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs Margus Tsahkna.
The sides discussed bilateral and Armenia-EU partnership agenda, as well as issues related to the regional developments.
The Ministers noted with satisfaction the political dialogue between Armenia and Estonia, which is expanding through high-level mutual visits and active contacts on various platforms.
Touching upon the steps taken towards deepening the Armenia-EU partnership, Ararat Mirzoyan noted that the framework of cooperation is indeed expanding significantly, stressing the importance of reaching new milestones in new directions using the existing tools with the support of all EU member states. Minister Mirzoyan added that he highly appreciates Estonia’s active participation in this direction.
Touching upon regional developments, Minister Mirzoyan presented the progress of negotiations on a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia stressed the importance of continuing the delimitation process based on the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration, as stated at the level of the leaders of the two countries, as also emphasized by a number of international partners, including the Estonian Foreign Ministry.
In the context of unblocking regional infrastructures, Ararat Mirzoyan mentioned the fundamental principles underlying the vision of the Republic of Armenia and the expressed readiness to implement certain procedural simplifications.
Other issues of mutual interest were touched upon.
