On May 29, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan had a meeting with Edmondo Cirielli, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy .

During the meeting the sides touched upon the "Italy-Central Asia" 3rd Ministerial Conference held in Rome on the same day. Paruyr Hovhannisyan underlined that the participation of Armenia in the event provided a good opportunity to present the “Crossroads of Peace’’ initiative developed by the Armenian Government to the colleagues.

The Deputy Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Italy discussed issues  of bilateral agenda, and touched upon the prospects of developing cooperation in the spheres of economy, defense as well as other areas of mutual interest.

Paruyr Hovhannisyan and Edmondo Cirielli also discussed the Armenia-EU partnership agenda, the prospects of its development and the bilateral cooperation within the EU framework.

The counterparts exchanged views on regional issues. Paruyr Hovhannisyan briefed on the latest developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
