Meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia with the President of Cyprus

On July 29, within the framework of the working visit to Nicosia, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Nikos Christodoulides, the President of Cyprus.

During the meeting, the agenda of the high-level political dialogue between the two countries and regional issues were touched upon.

The Foreign Minister of Armenia and the President of Cyprus stressed the importance of the decision to reciprocally open resident embassies in Yerevan and Nicosia in terms of expanding the partnership between the two countries, enriching the agenda in new directions and ensuring the continuity of tangible results. Ararat Mirzoyan highlighted the willingness to implement new initiatives in areas of mutual interest, particularly in the direction of promoting the economy, high technologies, and tourism.

In the current complex geopolitical conditions, the importance of close cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally and on multilateral platforms was stressed.

The joint efforts to further deepen Armenia's comprehensive partnership with the European Union were also touched upon.

In the context of regional developments, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan presented Armenia's approaches to the normalization process of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including the signing of the peace treaty stipulating the mutual recognition of territorial integrity, ensuring the continuity of border delimitation based on the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration. The importance of the implementation of the "Crossroads of Peace" project, which has broader regional significance, and the issues of cooperation with international partners in that direction were touched upon.
