On August 23, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a phone conversation with the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated Seyed Abbas Araghchi on his appointment as the Foreign Minister and wished him success in the new important role.

The interlocutors discussed topics of bilateral agenda between Armenia and Iran emphasizing the mutual readiness to make continuous efforts towards further enhancing the friendly ties and the strong partnership in areas of mutual interest. The upcoming plans were touched upon.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia noted that the Armenian side highly appreciates the consistent position of Iran regarding the sovereignty and the inviolability of territorial integrity of Armenia.
