The meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia

On September 2, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.

During the meeting, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of continuous expansion of close cooperation between Armenia and Georgia at all levels, which has been reflected in the agenda of strategic partnership announced this year. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia emphasized that this milestone reflects the strong partnership already formed between the two countries, but also provides new initiatives and new opportunities for cooperation in different directions.

In terms of expanding the bilateral agenda, the interlocutors also emphasized the role of parliamentary diplomacy, with the involvement of both foreign relations committees and parliamentary friendship groups.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Nikoloz Samkharadze exchanged views on regional issues. In this context, the vision on unblocking transport and economic infrastructures, based on well-known principles and reflected in the "Crossroads of Peace" program, was touched upon.

Minister Mirzoyan added: "We are indeed at an important crossroads, and the inclusive implementation of regional programs would be beneficial  in terms of both economic development and regional stability."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia also presented the latest developments in the process of concluding the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of its signing, including in regional context.
