Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Italy
23 September, 2024On September 23, within the framework of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy.
The interlocutors discussed regional developments. The steps undertaken by Armenia in the direction of establishing peace in the South Caucasus were touched upon. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that Armenia has a clear position and political will to sign the peace treaty with Azerbaijan in the shortest timeframe, which was the aim of the latest proposal sent by Armenia to Baku regarding the draft peace treaty.
Minister Mirzoyan stressed that Armenia’s vision of ensuring stability in the region is based on unconditional respect for territorial integrity, principles of inviolability of borders, as well as initiatives aimed at fostering economic interconnectivity.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Italy also touched upon the prospects of deepening the Armenia-EU partnership.
