Participation of the Foreign Minister of Armenia at the Session of the Council of Ministers of CIS
07 October, 2024On October 7, in Moscow, ahead of the meeting of the leaders of the CIS countries, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan took part in the Session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of CIS member states.
Within the framework of the session held in narrow and enlarged formats, issues on the agenda of CIS activity were discussed. Among the documents adopted with the participation of the Republic of Armenia, Minister Mirzoyan touched upon the decision to grant the honorary status of "Cultural Capital of the CIS" to the city of Meghri in 2026, emphasizing the ancient cultural heritage of the city. Touching upon the events to be held in 2025 dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Foreign Minister of Armenia emphasized the contribution of the Armenian people in the fight against fascism, racial discrimination, and intolerance.
Issues of regional stability and security were discussed at the meeting. Ararat Mirzoyan touched upon the main developments of the recent period in the direction of the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, in particular, the signing of the peace treaty.
