Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan participated in the official opening ceremony of the“FrancoFest” festival

On October 12, in Yerevan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan participated in the official opening ceremony of the “FrancoFest” literature and art festival. 

During the event the establishment of the Armenian branch of the prestigious Francophone literary Goncourt Prize and the inauguration of the national jury was announced.

In his welcoming speech, the Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted  the importance of the festival  in terms of promoting and strengthening the French language in Armenia.. In this context he underlined the crucial role  of  the French Institute in Armenia, French  University in Armenia and “New Mag” publishing house.

Welcoming the participation of the representatives from the Goncourt Academy, Paruyr Hovhannisyan highlighted the presence of the Academy member, renowned French writer and philosopher Pascal Bruckner,at the event.

The Deputy Minister reminded attendees of Bruckner’s crucial role in strengthening and deepening Armenian-French friendship, as well as the unequivocal support for Armenia and the Armenian people.
