On November 21, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan, who is in Lyon on a working visit, participated in "Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes-Armenia-Syunik Friendship Day" event, including political roundtable discussions, the press conference and other related events held within the framework of the event.

During the event, Paruyr Hovhannisyan presented the regional challenges faced by Armenia as well as the efforts of Armenia towards overcoming them in processes with neighboring countries and establishing sustainable peace in the region. The comprehensive agenda of the Armenian-French relations and the further deepening of the Armenia-EU partnership were touched upon.

Within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed in March 2023 between the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, the solemn ceremony of signing cooperation agreements between five communities of the Syunik region: Meghri, Kajaran, Sisian, Tegh, Tatev, and five cities of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region: Bron, Saint-Chamonix, Montelimar, Mornant, Puy-en-Vallee, was held on the same day at the residence of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional council.
