The Delegation of Armenia participated in the Conference of State Parties of the Chemical Weapons Convention

The Delegation of the Republic of Armenian led by Georgi Kocharyan, the Head of the International Security Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the 29th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which took place from 25 to 29 of November in The Hague.

In the national statement of Armenia Georgi Kocharyan reiterated Armenia's resolute commitment to entirely exclude the possibility of the use of chemical weapons or related hazardous materials and emphasized Armenia’s unwavering implementation of the provisions outlined in the Chemical Weapons Convention, since its accession to the Convention. 

The national statement emphasized that disagreements arising from the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention must be overcome through dialogue and cooperative endeavors.

During the conference, the implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the current challenges and the next steps were discussed.

The delegation of Armenia held a series of bilateral meetings, during which topics of mutual interest were discussed.
