Meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia with Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of the Netherlands
02 December, 2024On December 2, in The Hague, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Minister for Foreign Trade and Development of the Netherlands Reinette Klever.
The interlocutors discussed opportunities for developing sectoral cooperation alongside with the active political dialogue between Armenia and the Netherlands. Among the areas of mutual interest water resources management, healthcare and the promotion of economic cooperation through investments were highlighted.
Minister Mirzoyan noted that Armenia highly appreciates the support of the Netherlands for reforms in the areas of democracy, rule of law and human rights protection in Armenia, which was also reflected in the document outlining the priorities of the Dutch coalition government. The importance of continued cooperation in these directions was underlined.
The interlocutors also discussed prospects for further deepening the Armenia-EU partnership. In this context, Ararat Mirzoyan and Reinette Klever also exchanged views on projects aimed at ensuring regional connectivity. Presenting the vision of the Republic of Armenia for establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus, Foreign Minister of Armenia touched upon the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the Government of Armenia.
During the meeting, Minister Mirzoyan also presented the measures undertaken by the Government of Armenia to address the needs of Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
