49th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the BSEC Member States

On December 19, the 49th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization took place under the Chairmanship of Armenia. The meeting was held online.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, as the Chair-in-Office, delivered a video message. The efforts made by Armenia under the trinity of the slogan of Armenia's Chairmanship in the organization - “Engagement, Outreach, Resilience” - aimed at ensuring constructive and inclusive dialogue in BSEC and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in line with the goals of the organization were emphasized. The achievements recorded during the Chairmanship, which were important for the organization's functioning, as well as Armenia's proposals and possible further steps aimed at increasing the organization's efficiency were touched upon.

In his remarks, Minister Mirzoyan also touched upon the current challenges the BSEC region is facing and the importance of enhancing economic connectivity amidst the fragile geopolitical situation. In this context, the position of Armenia on unblocking regional transport communication with full respect for state sovereignty, territorial integrity and principles of equality and reciprocity was stressed.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan.

During the meeting several decisions and resolutions were adopted, in particular, the 2025 budget, Amendments to the Regulations for the Staff, as well as decisions on the new project under the Development Fund. 

In conclusion, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan extended his gratitude to the representatives of member states and the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat for their support and commitment to collaborate throughout the Chairmanship of Armenia.
