Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in the High Level side event of the Freedom Online Coalition

On February 25, in Geneva, within the framework of the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan participated in and delivered remarks at the High Level side event of the Freedom Online Coalition entitled "Keep the Internet On! The Impact of Internet Shutdowns".

In his remarks, the Deputy Foreign Minister touched upon the expansion of digital technologies, which pose emerging challenges that require innovative solutions and enhanced international cooperation.

Deputy Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan drew the attention of the attendees to Armenia’s strong track record in safeguarding freedom of speech and protecting human rights, as well as the ongoing efforts being undertaken in this regard.

The Deputy Foreign Minister presented the efforts of Armenia within the UN Human Rights Council in the field of digital technologies. In this context, the joint statement initiated by Armenia and Estonia during the 58th session of the Human Rights Council, addressing digital technologies and the rights of women and girls was highlighted.
