Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Armenia and Montenegro
27 March, 2025On March 27, in Yerevan, political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Armenia and Montenegro were held. Delegations were headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan and the State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Montenegro Periša Kastratović.
During the consultations, the parties touched upon the positive dynamics of bilateral relations in recent years, and high-level contacts,stressing their importance in promoting political dialogue and identifying opportunities to expand economic cooperation.
The parties highlighted the consistent development and deepening of relations in parliamentary diplomacy, education, tourism, innovative technologies, decentralised cooperation and other areas of mutual interest. The importance of expanding the legal framework and enhancing cooperation on multilateral platforms was also emphasised.
The views exchanged highlighted the importance of studying and sharing experiences of European integration.
The interlocutors also touched upon a number of issues on the regional and international agenda of mutual interest.. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia underscored the importance of the welcoming position expressed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, regarding the finalization of the "Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan". Vahan Kostanyan added that the Armenian side has proposed to the Azerbaijani side to hold consultations regarding the time and venue of the signing.
Deputy Minister Kostanyan briefed his counterpart on the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative developed by the Government of Armenia.
