The meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia with the PACE President
23 April, 2025On April 23, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Theodoros Rousopoulos, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
The interlocutors discussed issues on cooperation between Armenia and the Council of Europe. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved as a result of the democratic reforms implemented by Armenia.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Theodoros Rousopoulos emphasized the importance of respecting democratic values especially in the light of the current developments worldwide. Minister Mirzoyan highly appreciated the principled positions expressed by the PACE and other bodies of the Council of Europe regarding issues relevant for Armenia.
The Foreign Minister of Armenia and the President of PACE also exchanged views on regional and international issues.
Minister Mirzoyan presented the recent developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, underscoring that the signing of the Agreement on peace and establishment of interstate relations between the two countries would be a significant milestone toward ensuring peace in the region.
