Dear guests,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

We had quite a pleasant meeting with Ms. Michaëlle Jean, during which we summarized the results of the OIF Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the La Francophonie. We can mention that the Conference was a success, efficient from the perspective of its content and adopted documents.

Five Resolutions were adopted, three out of which were initiated by Armenia, including the one on the prevention of the genocides, that makes a reference to the very important statement by Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie on the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide on April 24, 2015.

I would also like to mention that the Ministerial Conference is a good platform for bilateral meetings. My counterparts from different countries held dozens of meetings.

I also used this opportunity and held nearly 25 meetings. We signed a number of documents with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the OIF member-states.

I would also mention that this is a good reason to yet again reaffirm Armenia’s commitment to the protection of the values and goals of the La Francophonie. Holding of the OIF Conference in Yerevan obliges us, together with all the members of the francophone family, also with the support of Secretary General and the Secretariat, to undertake additional efforts towards the implementation of those goals.

I would like to use this occasion to express my deep gratitude to the Secretary General, her whole team, the Secretariat, who had such an important contribution to the organization of this Conference.

Now, with great pleasure I give the floor to Secretary General.
